Back in September, we asked our guests to take a shot at naming our newest house beer, a New England style IPA, full of tropical hop flavors like pineapple, tangerine and sweet citrus leading to a lingering bright citrus finish. Our community shocked us by submitting nearly 700 fun, clever and name-worthy suggestions. 

Our team carefully reviewed the submissions, narrowing it down to a few names that captured the spirit of our sunny Sarasota, Florida roots, while also standing on its own. We wanted something that complemented our first house beer, the Snowbird Pilsner, but wasn’t tied too closely to Florida.

Why WICKED PARADISE? “WICKED” perfectly connected the New England aspect of the IPA and nods to our Snowbird Pilsner. “PARADISE” evokes the feeling of Florida, without being too specific, giving it a broader appeal. Additionally, “PARADISE” references the tropical fruit flavors, like pineapple and tangerine, while “WICKED” hints to the bitter hops that characterize our hazy IPA.

We are so excited to be adding our Wicked Paradise IPA to our Beer Wall and can’t wait for you to try it! Oak & Stone’s Wicked Paradise New England hazy iPA, Brewed by Palm City Brewing is available now on the Beer Wall at all Oak & Stone locations.

All Oak & Stone locations will be offering multiple selections from this year’s Goose Island release either on draft or in bottle. These stouts aren’t your average sip. The 2023 Original Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stout is aged in a mix of freshly emptied bourbon barrels from Buffalo Trace, Heaven Hill, Four Roses and Wild Turkey distilleries. Aged for an average of 12 months, The Original Stout boasts flavors of fudge, vanilla, and caramelized sugar. The 2023 Bananas Foster Stout is making its way to the national stage for the first time. This stout is aged with bananas, cassia bark, and toasted almonds, with notes of cinnamon and almond.

This month, we’ve got more locations, more partners, and more prizes than before! During the event, Oak & Stone will be holding a doggie costume contest. All dogs dressed in costume will be entered in the event and guests will have a chance to vote for their favorite festive pup. The winner will be announced at 3pm and will receive a gift basket with goodies for the pup and the parent! Pup must be present at time of announcement to win.

For our Barktober Edition, we will be holding our event at our Clark Road, UTC, Wellen Park and Naples locations. Each location has chosen a charity partner and brewery sponsor, listed below:

Local to Sarasota, Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue works to save thousands of homeless and at-risk animals each year at their no-kill shelter and adoption facility. Their shelter provides a loving haven for neglected, abandoned, and mistreated dogs and cats on their way to finding their forever homes. 

During the event, Nate’s Honor will have pups to play with and information about adoptions. Oak and Stone is excited to offer a place where people can enjoy great food and drink while helping support a great cause. 

On August 26th, Big Storm Brewing and Fat Point Brewing will also be at the event with samples and swag for those attending. Six select beers from the breweries will be available for guests on Oak & Stone’s self-serve beer wall at 25% off.
